Special Features & Historical Context
Reference 116508 is part of the Rolex Daytona collection and combines the 40 mm case with an Oyster bracelet crafted entirely from 18k yellow gold. The version with a blue Paul Racing Dial and yellow gold bezel with a tachymeter scale represents a special dial variant within the 116508 reference.
Timeless design, impeccable quality in every respect, and an annual increase in value make Rolex watches daily companions and wearable investments.
As the first hermetically sealed watch in history, the Rolex, with its often-copied Oyster case, began its triumphant march across the world, and legendary models such as the Submariner, GMT-Master, Explorer, and the classic Datejust have remained visually almost unchanged since their appearance.
Only in recent years has Rolex begun to minimally adapt to current trends in watch design and, with its sports models, exceeded the 40 mm case diameter limit.
In addition to its reputation as a status symbol and sports watch for extreme situations, the Rolex watch also holds a unique place in the hearts of watch collectors as a collector’s item.
