Rolex Daytona Meteorite
Case and Material
The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116509 features a 40 mm Oyster case crafted from 18 ct white gold. The fixed bezel is also made of white gold and features an engraved tachymeter scale. The case is equipped with a screw-down crown and pushers, adhering to the Oyster system.
Dial and Special Features
It is fitted with a silver meteorite dial featuring the characteristic Widmanstätten pattern, which results from the processing of genuine meteorite material. The chronograph displays are arranged across three subdials. Applied hour markers and hands ensure clear legibility.
Bracelet and Clasp
The watch is equipped with an Oyster bracelet made of 18 ct white gold. The Oysterlock safety folding clasp ensures a secure fit and offers comfortable adjustment.
Movement
Inside, the automatic Rolex manufacture calibre 4130 operates. This chronograph movement offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and is renowned for its efficiency, precision, and reduced number of components.
Condition and Accessories
The watch is in lightly worn condition, has been carefully inspected by our watchmakers, and is sold with a 1-year technical warranty. It comes with box and papers from 2012.
Special Features & Historical Context
The reference 116509 belongs to the white gold version of the Daytona series. Variants with meteorite dials are rarer within the model range due to the material used and the unique structure of each dial. Models of this configuration combine precious metal cases with sporty chronograph functionality.
Timeless design, impeccable quality in every respect, and an annual increase in value make Rolex watches daily companions and wearable investments.
As the first hermetically sealed watch in history, the Rolex, with its often-copied Oyster case, began its triumphant march across the world, and legendary models such as the Submariner, GMT-Master, Explorer, and the classic Datejust have remained visually almost unchanged since their appearance.
Only in recent years has Rolex begun to minimally adapt to current trends in watch design and, with its sports models, exceeded the 40 mm case diameter limit.
In addition to its reputation as a status symbol and sports watch for extreme situations, the Rolex watch also holds a unique place in the hearts of watch collectors as a collector’s item.
