The Rolex Explorer II reference 216570 is a robust and versatile sports watch specifically developed for adventurers and extreme situations. This 2020 model impresses with a classic stainless steel case, a clear white dial (“Polar Dial”), and functional features that make it a reliable companion for outdoor activities.
Case and Bezel
The 42 mm case made of Oystersteel, a stainless steel alloy specially developed by Rolex, offers exceptional resistance to corrosion and scratches. The fixed stainless steel bezel features 24-hour engravings which, in conjunction with the orange GMT hand, allow for a second time zone or a day-night display.
Dial and Functions
The white dial, also known as the “Polar Dial”, is equipped with large, luminous indices and hands that are perfectly legible even in low light thanks to the Chromalight coating. The orange 24-hour hand, a striking design element, provides additional functionality and visual accents. The date is located at 3 o’clock and is magnified by the iconic Cyclops lens in the sapphire crystal.
Bracelet and Clasp
The stainless steel Oyster bracelet perfectly complements the sporty aesthetic of the Explorer II. With its robust yet comfortable construction, it is suitable for a wide range of activities. The Oysterlock safety clasp and the Easylink extension system ensure optimal grip and flexibility.
Movement
Inside beats the caliber 3187, an automatic movement developed and manufactured by Rolex. It offers a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, making the watch particularly resistant to shocks and temperature fluctuations. This movement is COSC-certified and additionally meets the strict criteria of Rolex’s own “Superlative Chronometer” standard.
